SunSafety™ for iPhone is the skin cancer prevention App. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. SunSafety™ provides useful, up-to-date sun exposure danger information and advice on how to protect yourself and your family from skin cancer. SunSafety™ provides data on the Sun’s UV radiation for your location with your iPhone and iPod touch. SunSafety™ lowers skin cancer risk by informing you about the intensity and harmful effects of the Sun’s UV rays for the selected location and provides advice on sun exposure protection. The app uses KNMI/ESA UV index data by TEMIS for the current day.

The application also provides current weather information for any US city.

Lower your risk for skin cancer by protecting yourself based on your location’s sun safety. The SunSafety™ Meter indicates the strength of sun’s Ultra Violet (UV) radiation on a scale from 1 (low) to 11+ (extremely high) for US States. You can refer to the scale to take appropriate sun-protective action and avoid overexposure to the sun’s harmful radiation. The application is a great tool to have near-real time rating on intensity of Sun’s harmful rays. Based on the SunSafety™ Meter rating, the user can take appropriate skin protection steps such as applying Sunscreen of appropriate SPF and protect his or her skin from harmful solar radiation.

SunSafety™ is the only app that provides both Sun UV Index and current Weather conditions in a single application. Simply set the app to auto-location or manually select a location of your choice to update yourself on current weather conditions and UV sun intensity anytime on real-time basis. The app allows you to acquire locations automatically or select from the pre-defined list of all US States and Cities.
